D&D Automotive Repair Owners

From the Owner, Doug Kressley

"When Jodi and I started looking for our own auto repair shop, at first we didn’t have any luck, so in the meantime, I took a job in Leesburg doing state and emissions inspections for another shop. As fate would have it, a shop came available July 1, 2010. We took a look at it, and Jodi said ‘no way, what a dump!’ But one week later, we went back with open minds and signed a lease. After 20 days of cleaning and painting and preparation, we opened the doors to D&D Automotive on August 1 2010.

"Now five long, hard years later, I wouldn’t trade our decision to open a business for any job. I love having my own shop, knowing I am helping customers keep their cars going and helping the economy by employing five teammates, so they can support themselves and their families. With all of our automotive and business knowledge, rest assured you and your vehicle will be taken care of quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

"As my son, Dylan, always says: Fast and good is not cheap. Cheap and fast is not good. And good and cheap, well they just don’t mix."

Doug Kressley – Owner

Doug started in the automotive field in 1989 as an oil change tech, and eventually worked his way up the auto industry ladder. Over the past two decades, he has had the pleasure to work in independent shops and dealerships, including Ford, Acura, and Infinity, but most of his automotive career was spent at Nissan, where he spent 13 years. During that time, Doug earned his ASE certifications, VA State Inspection License, and Emissions Inspection License. While at Nissan, he received the “Owner First Award” 10 out of the 13 years he was there.

In August 2010, Doug and his wife, Jodi, decided it was time to open their own auto repair shop. D&D stands for Doug and Dylan, who is the Kressley’s 15-year-old son. In August 2015, Doug had to undergo triple bypass heart surgery, which means he no longer works on cars full-time, but he enjoys running the shop, supporting his team and the Leesburg community as a whole. In his spare time, he enjoys camping with the family and coaching Dylan’s basketball team.
