12 check-ins As a woman I like going to a place where the mechanics don't try to BS me or treat me like an idiot, which is a hard place to find. I had a 20 year old Jeep as my first car and drove it for 15 years, I'm not saying I am a mechanic, but I do know one or maybe two things about cars. Have had my 4Runner for 10 years with 175K miles on it, nearly trouble free. I used to take it to the dealership in Frederick because they had a great rep, but a couple years ago they took a dive in service and I haven't found anyone I particularly trust, until this week. The Runner has, off-and-on, had a strange hesitation in it for several years. Numerous visits to mechanics, numerous computer checks and various repair attempts on multiple parts have all failed to pinpoint, or fix, the problem. One day at D&D Automotive and it's fixed, a simple throttle position sensor that was just crappy enough to be annoying but never show up on computer checks and of course never when the mechanic drove it. This shop is the real deal, mechanics, not just part-swappers. Thanks Doug, for fixing my car, and not treating me like a moron in the process.
